Fresh with ripe pear, honeyed quince, toasted nut, lemon curd, savoury and chalky textured on the palate. Very nicely done. Chill and pour with Sunday night's roast chicken dinner. Drink or hold. Cristom Vineyards Pinot Noir 2021, Mt. Jefferson, Willamette Valley, Oregon, United States: From Mt. Jefferson, Willamette Valley wine region, Cristom Vineyards 2021 is a pretty Pinot Noir perfumed with ripe cherry, raspberry, smooth and elegant on the palate with cherry, dark raspberry, blueberry, baking spices, cold black tea, savoury herbs, elegant with a minerally finish. Tannins are fine. Over 40% of the grapes were whole-cluster pressed. Good now, better in 2024 as it continues to evolve in bottle. Pinot Noir food pairings: duck confit, coq au vin, beef bourguignon.
