Marchand-Tawse Côte de Nuits-Villages 2020, Côte De Nuits, Burgundy A.C., France: From Pascal Marchand, Marchand-Tawse 2020 Côte De Nuits Villages is produced from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Les Clous and Essarts in Comblanchien. A portion of the grapes (40%) were whole-cluster pressed and the wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied and savoury with ripe raspberry compote, red berry, dark cherry with just a kiss of spice and finishing long on the palate. Beautifully balanced and elegant, drink or cellar to 2028. Food pairings: duck confit, roast chicken, grilled lamb ribs. Domaine Jean-Maurice Raffault Chinon 2021, Loire A.C., France: Domaine Jean-Maurice Raffault 2021 is a cool-fermented, dry and zesty Chenin from the Loire wine region. Produced from organically-grown grapes sourced from vines in chalky, limestone and clay soils. Beautifully fragrant with white florals, honeyed pear, quince, citrusy and spicy on the palate with a long, zesty mineral finish. Excellent now. Drink or hold.
