Big acidity on this trendy orange from Traynor. The 2016 vintage is showing well. Mouthwatering, slight tannins, steely minerality with orange blossom over a big layer of canned peaches, blood orange. Medium finish and persistence of peaches and green tea. Tasted 2016 vintage decanted an hour in Feb 2018. 88 points

A fun and funky orange wine made from Frontenac Gris grapes, from wine maker Mike Traynor. Fermented on skins and stems - unfiltered and not fined, so many exquisite flavours pile into the wine. Medium orange colour and cloudy from the natural yeast. Aromas of crisp crabapple, tart underipe raspberry, honeysuckle, honeyed cantaloupe, tomato and a lime zest touch of funk. Flavours are sublime: cranberry, crabapple, dried fruit and light stemmy leaves. Very well balanced, earthy and refreshing. Pair with hummus dip and a veggie platter. 88 points

Alluring fruity and floral nose with juicy blood orange and saline minerality flavours. The finish shows some pithy notes but what’s more interesting are the tannins that sneak through. Try this wine and note the drying mouthfeel. It is also a dry “oragne wine” (wine white wine that held longer skin contact during maceration) and a yummy one at that! Well done Traynor Vineyards! Enjoy with some grilled shrimp and pineapple. Tasted Feb 2018 by @sommsosa
