Natalie's Score: 93/100

The vines for this blockbuster Californian Cabernet are planted high on the hillside slopes of Mount Veeder, clinging to rugged facades with rocky, steep soils. Full-bodied, complex and savoury with many intriguing aromas and flavours. This is benchmark Californian cabernet in all its glory. Aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and cassis with some dry underbrush and herbs and smoke on the finish. Pair with classic filet mignon, lamb with rosemary or pork tenderloin. Decant 2 hours.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled veal chop with morel mushrooms.

Reviews and Ratings

This wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley. Mount Veeder (2013) is full-bodied, savoury and simply a benchmark Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. Lots of ripe berry, fruit, jammy plums, spice and a black olive finish. Tannins are there, but are soft and rounding on this very drinkable Cabernet. - Community Wine Reviews
