Reviews and Ratings

Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby in colour with aromas of plum, raspberry, strawberry, mint, smoke and cassis. It is full bodied with firm tannins and well balanced acidity with flavours of ripe red fruits, black pepper and smoke. This will pair nicely with a steak or rack of ribs. Tasted on March 11, 2018
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour with a ripe juicy bouquet showing stewed strawberries, cassis, dark plums and figs. Hits of roasted green peppers evolve. Flavours are full - blackcurrants, black cherries, prunes and smokey spices. Full bodied with rich, velvety tannins. A perfect pairing for herb crusted beef tenderloin. 90 points - tasted March 2018
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ruby red color with black cherry on the nose and with smoke, stewed plums and blackberry on the palate. Full bodied with lingering tannins. Tasted March 2018.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Not for the faint of heart. Hugely big, bold with giant jammy blackberry, ripe field strawberry, savoury, pomegranate aril, vanilla. Signature aromatics, palate with typicity in this Cali Cab, from Pablo Robles. Full-bodied, sumptuous and ready to enjoy with a big, juicy gourmet burger and all the fixings. Tasted 2015 vintage in March 2018, decanted 1h. 90 points
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blackberry, leather. Don't let the nose of this wine fool you as it opens up beautifully. Medium-bodied with dark fruit (blackberry, cherry) flavours and smooth (almost TOO smooth) finish. Goes down well with a meat-lovers pizza or BBQ gourmet burgers or ribs.

Ready to drink now.

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Gunsight Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, from Don Sebastiani and Son located in Paso Robles, California, offers a nice and balanced wine. It releases warm aromas of dark skin plum, dark cherry, baking spice and black tea. Its long lingering finish of jammy plum and dark cherry, enveloped in smoke, pepper and sandalwood, and a zest of cherry tomato will tickle your palate. Firm but not oppulant, Gunsight Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 will please all California wine lovers. Cheers!

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas include on this beautiful ruby wine include red currant, ripe plum, raspberry, and smoke. Nice medium to full body, smooth with some soft tannins after the wine has had a chance to open up. Pair with any grilled meat or steak.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is almost candy-like, the oak is not yet well-integrated but will over a couple years. Lots of candied cherry and plum, with pressed red flowers and baking spice. 88 points.
Gunsight Rock (2015) is a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Paso Robles wine region in California. The grapes for full-bodied red are sourced from the east side of the Paso Robles appellation, where the vines get a lot of sunlight and substantial heat. Look for ripe and rich blackberry, cedar spice and smoky oak flavours on this made-for-a-grilled-steak red. - Community Wine Reviews
