Apple pie, apricot and honey aromas in this dessert wine made from the Vidal grape. Although there isn't as much balancing acidity here as there would be with a Riesling based icewine, there's still plenty to enjoy.

Vidal Icewine food pairings: fresh fruit, lemon almond custard tarte, creamy cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This award wining icewine from the Niagara Peninsula is made by hand harvesting grapes when they freeze on the vine after temperature has fallen below -8? - they are immediately crushed resulting in a small amount of decadent nectar being released which is then slow fermented over the following several months. The color is a glorious gold with an amber hue, aromas and flavors of candied nectarine, peaches and fruitcake. Silky and elegant with a lingering honey finish - perfect with rich cheeses and/or paté.
G. Marquis The Silver Line (2014) is a Vidal Icewine is layered honey apricot compote, ripe peach and orange marmalade wrapped up on a zingy acidity. Vidal wine grapes were hand-harvested from the Niagara Peninsula wine region for this lovely, complex, luscious and long-finish dessert wine. Wine was aged in barrel. - Community Wine Reviews
