Love the fresh and clean nose of this medium-bodied Pouilly-Fumé. So aromatic with grapefruit, lime and elderflower, flint and smoke with palate to match and incredible mouth-watering acidity. Finished balanced and long with lime zest and mineral flavours. Pair with all things seafood. Domaine Chatelain has been family-owned since the 17th century, and Vincent Chatelain, the most recent owner, represents the 11th generation to run the estate.

Pouilly-Fumé food pairings: steamed prawn in garlic and lemon sauce, king crab in lemon butter, steamed mussels.

Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Chatelain family have been making wines for more than 300 years, and it is now the 12th generation who are making the wines today. A very fresh, crisp and enjoyable Pouilly-fumé - the length is quite impressive, as well as its development on the palate with notes of pineapple, kiwi, and fresh lime. Worth every penny!
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A Sauvignon Blanc from Loire, France, this is a terroir-driven example of the varietal. Extra dry and medium-bodied with mineral and subdued citrus aromas, slightly smoky on the palate. Light to medium acidity with a citrus, green finish. Serve with seafood.
Chatelain Les Charmes 2017 Pouilly-Fumé is first off, lime-lemon zest fresh, flinty and smoky on the nose. Right away it speaks of the Loire wine region. Dry, mouth-watering with liquid lemon and lime, stony with bright green herbs, cut grass and flinty, mineral flavours on the palate. Domaine Chatelain has been family-owned since the 17th century, and Vincent Chatelain, the most recent owner, represents the 11th generation to run the estate. - Community Wine Reviews
