Brooding and savoury with black fruit and toasty oak. Yum! A full-bodied Washington state red wine made from varietals that do well in the Columbia Valley. Notes of cassis and blackcurrant with a pleasant bitter finish wrapped in mocha. Pair with braised meats.

Food pairings: meat lover's pizza, bobtje, gourmet burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A ripe, rich, full-bodied Washington State red blend (predominantly Syrah and Merlot based) sourced from Chateau Ste. Michelle's flagship - Indian Wells - vineyard, on the Wakluke Slope AVA. Situated just north of the Yakima Valley and Columbia River Wahluke Slope is one of Washington's warmest AVAs.

This wine boasts ripe red berry fruit, fine floral and mild spice aromas. If drinking now, allow this wine to aerate for one-two hours. The palate is dominated by stewed (yet tart) red fruit, pithy dark chocolate, and eucalyptus notes. Acidity is medium to high and the finish is long, tangy and pleasant. Enjoy with deep dish saucy and cheesy tomato-basil pizza. Tasted April 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Chateau Ste. Michelle's Indian Wells (2013) is a full-bodied red wine made from varietals that do well in the Columbia Valley. The robust Washington red wine is a blend of 43% Syrah, 43% Merlot, 6% Grenache, 4% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Mourvèdre grapes. More than 50% the grapes are grown in warm Wahluke Slopes. Enjoy with barbequed ribs. - Community Wine Reviews
